BIO-CAROTENE - THE NATURAL PRECURSOR OF VITAMIN A
Bio-Carotene is a dietary supplement, which contains the 9mg of pure, high absorbable beta-carotene. Beta-Carotene is the natural precursor of vitamin A (retinol), and is partially converted into vitamin A in the body. Beta-Carotene is also a powerful antioxidant, which neutralises harmful free radicals, therefore increasing the body's natural defense against disease.

CANNOT BE OVERDOSED
The conversion from beta-carotene to retinol (the classical definition of vitamin A) takes place in the intestinal mucosa. Vitamin A is a fat soluble and can therefore be overdosed, but beta-carotene (also called pro-vitamin A) is a water soluble and completely safe, even in high quantities.

Part of the reason for this, is that the body only converts beta-carotene to the extent it needs retinol. If there is enough retinol in the body, there is an automatic feed back regulation loop that prevents further conversion occurring. This regulatory process ensures that even large amounts of beta-carotene cannot cause vitamin A poisoning.

BETA-CARROTENE - A POWERFUL ANTIOXIDANT
Apart from begin a precursor of vitamin A, beta-carotene functioned independently as a powerful antioxidant. This is useful under the conditions where there is an abundance of free radicals. Sunbathing, for example, produces large quantities of free radicals that can cause permanent damage if they are not neutralised.

One Bio-Carotene capsule contains the same amount of beta-carotene as three or four large carrots.

Beta-Carotene makes the skin more resistant to sunlight so it doesn't burn easily.
Furthermore, it increases pigmentation and gives you a quicker tan.
Beta-carotene is particually transformed in the body into Vitamin A as required, and has an additional and independent function.
