NON - ACIDIC VITAMIN C - GENTLE TOWARDS THE STOMACH
One single Bio-C-Vitamin tablet contains the same amount of vitamin C as 1.5 kilo's of oranges. As Bio-C-Vitamin tablets are based on non-acidic calcium ascorbate, a large amount of vitamin C does not disturb the delicate environment inside the stomach.
Each tablet contains 750mg of vitamin C (calcium ascorbate). All plants and most animals are able to synthesize vitamin C, but we humans do not have the ability and therefore depend on the vitamins from our diet, and a good supplement. Fresh fruit and vegetables contain generous amounts of vitamin C, whereas meat, fish, poultry and dairy products only contain small amounts. Whole grain products are practically devoid of vitamin C (also known a s ascorbic acid.)

WHO NEEDS VITAMIN C?
Smokers have an increased need for vitamin C, which is why the American health authorities recommended smokers to take twice the recommended daily allowance, RDA. Female smokers have less vitamin C in their breast milk, which increases the risk of their babies not getting enough vitamin C when they are, breast-feed. There is an increased need for vitamin C during periods of fever, or when they are cuts, wounds of inflammatory diseases. Certain types of medicine also increase the need for vitamin C.

Vitamin C is a water-soluble and can therefore not be overdosed.
In fact it is far more serious to get too little vitamin C than the other way around. A grave defiency results in the scurvy, the classical defiency syndrome, with bleeding gums, subcutaneous bleeding and extreme weakness. Excessive doses do not pose a threat, although it might give you a temporary case of diarrhoea, which will eventually cease as your body becomes use to the dose.
