Arnica gel effective for reducing osteoarthritis

New research has shown that arnica gel can be beneficial for reducing osteoarthritis of the fingers. The Swiss study involved 20 doctors and 204 patients over one year and compared the effectiveness of arnica gel with an ibuprofen gel. Arnica proved to be as effective in both pain reduction and improving functional ability in the hands. Arnica was also proved equally as effective in reducing morning joint stiffness. Overall, 64% of patients in the arnica group said the improvements were either good or very good compared to 58% in the ibuprofen group.
